Since science essays rely on facts, falsified information can cost a student a grade in an essay. What is more, proofread your work to identify any mistakes in spelling and grammar or if possible run your work through grammar and spelling checking websites to avoid common mistakes, or you can even ask a friend to proofread your paper.
Setting up your own science blog is a great way to publicise a field that is close to your heart, hone your writing skills and make a name for yourself.
The essays will be judged on the level of understanding of the content, the quality of the argument, the structure, writing style and novel approach (to saving the world). The essays will be judged by our expert panel of science journalists and presenters.
The competition. We are delighted to announce that the Medical Research Council has partnered with The Observer for the Max Perutz Science Writing Award 2020. The award aims to encourage and recognise outstanding written communication by MRC PhD students. This year, the winner will have their article published in The Observer.

Then you could be a potential winner in the 10th ASiS International Essay Writing Competition. This environmental essay competition is organized by SM Sains Alam Shah (Alam Shah Science School or ASiS), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in close collaboration with the School of Environmental and Geographical Sciences of the University of Nottingham Malaysia with the support of the Ministry of Education.
The Schools Science Competition entered its 5th year in 2019. The competition was open to teams of students of aged 11-18 from secondary schools, 6th forms, or home-schooled groups. We received over 150 team registrations from across the UK and overseas, and 7 teams were invited to take part in the Final which took place on 27 March.
